Why The Amazon Kindle Is Cool

When Oprah Winfrey announced that the amazon kindle was her “favorite new gadget” in 2008, Amazon’s marketing team must have been ecstatic. Celebrity endorsements really help with this type of device. Since then the Kindle has had publicity boosts from the likes of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Stephen King and even Hilary Clinton (as a member of the New Democratic Leadership Council). There are plenty of other readers available today – you could argue that some of them have features that are better than the Kindle, in some areas at least. However, none of them seem to have gained the same amount of publicity as the Kindle – which probably explains, to some extent at least, why Amazon is currently so dominant in the market.
