The show tells the story of Andy arriving at an American prison after being found guilty of killing his wife after she had an affair. As a well educated chap, he is poles apart from the general inmates and offers to help a prison guard with his finances. With this guard on his side Andy becomes the prison guards accountant. The theatre version has a very raw feeling and feels remarkably real to the captivated audience. The action scenes are fantastic, the stage set is truly realistic and the strength of acting is also fabulous.
